Originally known as the Vale das Voltas line, it was a 140 km railway section that connected Espinho to Viseu. Inaugurated in 1914, it is currently only active from Sernada do Vouga to Espinho. The deactivated part will give way to the Vale do Vouga eco-track, a pedestrian cycle path where old wreckers and train stations will also be recovered.
