Philip's Flat is located in the parish of Alvor belonging to Portimão.

Alvor is known for Kiteboarding on the Alvor lagoon and on the beach. Boat trips and visits to caves can also be arranged close to the apartment.

Ria de Alvor is a fishing village.

Once in the Ria de Alvor, you can follow the walkways that run through a myriad of dunes, small beaches and marshes, rewarding the visitor with superb views of this natural wonder. Take time to observe the large dozen species of birds that make the Ria de Alvor their home.

From the balcony of Philip's Flat you can see the Ria de Alvor on the right and the sea in front, a perfect location to end the day or have breakfast.

Panoramic view

The caves are true treasures of nature, don't miss the various caves in the Algarve. Unfortunately, it is not accessible on foot and swimming there is very dangerous, so entry is only possible by taking one of the Algarve's boat, kayak or Stand Up Paddle trips.

Close to Alvor you can visit the Baratas cave (the cave in the first image).

As with all sea caves, entry depends on tidal and sea conditions, so it is advisable to book in advance in case you need to reschedule.

Among the best known are the Benagil cave in Lagoa (the cave in the second image), the Captain's Cave in Armação de Pêra and the Elephant Cave in Lagos.

You can enjoy a giant ice cream at Palácio do Cone or drink a caipirinha at the famous Bolan Bar.
